German Enterprise Centre Qingdao in P.R. China built with VIP technology

After Beijing and Shanghai, it is the turn of Qingdao to witness the unveiling of the German Enterprise Centre building, a facility platform providing investment services to German companies in China. The investment of the project totals 677 million CNY and the overall construction area is of 75,000 square meters.

The project specifications included very high energy-saving requirements. The external walls were insulated with 30 mm VIPs and 10 mm mortar. The decorative layer structure is 5 mm ceramic tile pasted by dry mix tile adhesive mortar with ceramic tile caulking agent. Before it was finalized, the building was pre-certificated for the ‘Gold Award’ by the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Association). It is the world’s largest pre-certification project for the DGNB ‘Gold Award’, and it is also the first DGNB pre-certification ‘Gold Award’ under construction in Asia.

The Chinese Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development delivered in 2015 the “Three-Star Green Building Design Certificate” which made it the first double-certified project receiving the national green building “Three-Star” certificate as well the “Gold Award” by the DGNB.

Mr Zhai Chuanwei, President of Qingdao Kerui New Environmental Materials and Board member of VIPA International stated: “This project shows how VIP technology is being used in China. To contribute to efficient buildings is an important objective of Creek and in this concrete example, VIP technology was the best fit. We were thrilled that the building received “Three-Star” and the “Gold Award”.
