VIPA International held its 5th General Assembly alongside IVIS in Japan
On 18 September, VIPA International held its 5th General Assembly, the day before the start of the International Vacuum Insulation Symposium (IVIS) in Kyoto, Japan.
The members elected John Balazs (Panasonic) as the new Vice-President and welcomed him as a member of the VIPA International Executive Committee. Three new members were welcomed to the association: Panasonic, Brunel University London and Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
At the General Assembly, the Annual report was approved (click here for download). The report summarises the many activities of VIPA International in the previous year to raise awareness to our high performing insulation technology that increases energy efficiency while at the same time saving space. Among those activities, the organisation of a very successful international conference in Vienna, Austria and the production of a new video on the many benefits of using VIPs in appliances (link to video here). The outlook for next year is exiting since many new ideas and projects are in the pipeline.
VIPA International’s President Gregor Erbenich (Porextherm) who was the keynote speaker of the opening session of IVIS added: “We want to congratulate our academia member, Brunel University London, for being chosen for the organisation of the 15th IVIS in 2021 and look forward to give our full support to this conference”.
